In collaboration with Hegias and Richner, I worked on several projects and applications. One of the first was a bathroom VR configurator designed to allow Richner customers to experience different products and bathroom designs in a pop-up store in Winterthur Richner Lab. The main challenge was ensuring the app did not interfere with the sales journey, while allowing multiple users to interact with the application simultaneously—either in VR or via a touchscreen. The app was built in Unity, and I developed the entire application, including all interactions. It allowes users to explore the virtual bathroom in VR or on a touchscreen, with multiple camera perspectives that keet the Richner salesperson in control of the environment. I also solved the complex multi-user setup, enabling VR users to change objects, materials, and bathroom configurations while interacting with the environment. Key features of the app included: • Changing the virtual bathroom’s surroundings, such as floor and wall materials • Customizing objects within the space • Performance optimization, including lighting, models, and textures • A multi-user system that supported VR, touchscreen, and keyboard inputs, allowing users to seamlessly join or leave the experience at any time, ensuring ease of use and exploration. Explore this application in the Richner Lab store in Winterthur.
